WELCOME TO HYLDGAARD PHOTOGRAPHY

Welcome to my site where I show some of my nature and wildlife photography.

There are times in your life when you embark on a new journey in unknown terrain. For me as a professional portrait photographer, the pandemic was the start of a journey into nature and wildlife photography. I especially enjoy the quiet mornings where nature wakes up and the light is magical. Nature photography is not the easiest topic to handle, but the more you practice, the luckier you become.

MASTER OF PHOTOGRAPHY IN FIAP – MFIAP

As the fourth Danish photographer ever I was awarded with the prestigious MFIAP-distinction in May 2022. Two years of hard work pays off, as they say.

The portfolio of twenty pictures must be coherent from its conception to its realisation and presentation. The portfolio is judged by the Directory Board of FIAP.

EFIAP/DIAMOND 3 – END OF THE LINE

After  a few years break from competition photography, I decided in 2013 to carry on to the next FIAP level and se how far, I could take it.

Here in 2020 I have achieved the 9th and highest level in FIAP distinctions, the EFIAP/diamond 3. And so ends my FIAP journey. It has been an amazing ride!

MSDF/GOLD – EXCLUSIVE AND RARE

The distinctions of the Society of Danish Photography are among the most rare distinctions in the world. Only three Danish photographers have previously achieved this distinction. It is a great honor to receive this and be the fourth in the line of recipients.

New goals on the horizon for the time to come.

NATIONAL CHAMPION FOR THE THIRD TIME

At the congress in the Society of Danish Photography I was handed the trophy for the Danish championship 2024. The competition was incredibly close this year.

It was the 11th championship in total, with four regional, three national and four Nordic. However, there is still room for more trophies in the display case.
